### About Bookshelf for NotebookLM

Bookshelf for NotebookLM is a free browser extension that brings folder management, search, and sync capabilities to NotebookLM. It adds folders and subfolders, drag-and-drop reordering, quick filtering, and appearance options to help keep many notebooks organized.

### Review

Bookshelf for NotebookLM addresses a clear gap by providing straightforward organization tools where a flat list of notebooks can become unwieldy. The extension integrates into the notebook interface and focuses on lightweight, practical features that users can adopt immediately.

#### Key Features

- Folders & subfolders for hierarchical organization of notebooks
- Drag & drop rearrangement for quick reordering
- Search and sort filters to find notebooks by name or date
- Cloud sync across devices while keeping data stored locally in the browser
- Dark mode, bulk edit mode, and support for multiple languages

#### Pricing and Value

The extension is available for free. Given its focus on practical organization-folders, search, reordering, and device sync-it delivers clear value for users who maintain many notebooks and want a simple, privacy-conscious way to keep them sorted. Local storage and a statement of no external tracking add to its appeal for users concerned about data handling.

#### Pros

- Adds missing folder and subfolder organization to NotebookLM-style notebooks
- Intuitive drag-and-drop and bulk edit make large cleanups faster
- Search and sort reduce time spent locating specific notebooks
- Sync and local-only storage balance cross-device access with privacy

#### Cons

- Limited to use within the browser environment where the notebook system runs
- Sync relies on the extension's mechanisms rather than a centralized backup, which may feel less robust to some users
- Feature set is focused on organization; users seeking advanced notebook editing or metadata tools will need additional utilities

Bookshelf for NotebookLM is best for writers, researchers, students, and anyone who accumulates many notebooks and needs a simple, focused way to organize them. If you want lightweight, privacy-minded organization integrated directly into your notebook interface, this extension is a practical fit.
