0:09 hey folks my name is Chris noring I work as a senior Cloud Advocate at Microsoft in today's lesson lesson five we'll talk about how to create Advanced prompt uh you can definitely check out this link here at the bottom AK Ms gen AI beginners where you will be able to find all the different lessons that will skill you up from beginner to expert now as we move in let's check out this lesson right uh you can see that this is part of a GitHub repo there's a ton of different lessons here so we definitely recommend that you check out all of these lessons to make sure that you scale up properly the goals of this lesson is to learn how to apply prompt engineering techniques that improve the outcome of your prompts and hopefully by now you saw the previous video where we introduced the concepts of prompts and prompt engineering and this takes it to a different level where we explain that there is actually a method and an engineering principle behind getting a better result because that that's really what we're trying to achieve so for example if we look at a very basic prompt you see that it says how to generate 10 questions on geography
1:20 that's all well and fine but there are some hidden clues in here that makes this a good prpt because we are providing context by saying geography we're also limiting the output by saying no more than 10 questions not 20 questions not 30 questions not 50 questions but 10 and this is an important principle when it comes to be better at prompting which is what you're about to do uh one also one other thing when it comes to a topic when you go into a topic just imagine that it could be a very big topic so the more you can drill down into specifics the better so for example if you're interested in Paris and London you should say that instead of UK or France or what have you so always think about providing just the right level of context to ensure that that output is what you need and the format is also something that we can work on so far you saw how we said 10 questions but you can also decide how you want that output to come to you like for example with a title a description or maybe some other keywords so these are just some good grounding some basic tips on how to be a better prompter but there are also some various techniques that we're here to
