0:00 In addition to that, I will show you as well the advanced texture generation and sketch feature. By the end of this video, you will be able to create a highly detailed 3D model from a 2D image and use it in the end in the 3D software of your choice. Having said that, let's dive right into it. Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. This is Philip from Pixel Artistry and today I want to show you a huge update.
0:46 As I mentioned already in the intro because now we have Huan 3D 2.5 and I honestly have to say it's a really great improvement to the last version and I will show you in a second. But first I would like to show you how you can use Hunion 3D 2.5 in general and how to set it up and how to access it. It's unfortunately only available on their own website at the moment. They didn't release any weights yet for Comfy UI.
1:11 In case they do that, I will let you know. They made statements about it that it could happen, but it's not entirely sure now. So, I can't promise anything. But if they do it, then of course, I will also do a tutorial for Hun 3D2.5. But for now, we have to stick with their website, but which is still great. I will show you this in a second, how much you can generate and stuff like this. But you can use it for free at least for 20 generations which is great.
1:35 One important thing I have to mention is that um if you want to use it commercially that's unfortunately not possible at the moment. I will also show you this here. So as you can see obviously you just see it Chinese. So if you're not speaking Chinese then probably it's hard to read. So I would suggest to just put that in chat GTP or something. Unfortunately Chrome doesn't translate it for some reason. I don't know why, but anyways, um what it says in general is that it's not allowed to use it commercially.
2:00 You have to get the license from Tencent and they have to allow it. Um so you have to reach out to them if you want to use it commercially otherwise you can use it for your own projects and not commercially. But just keep that in mind please and read uh the instructions here because otherwise you might get in trouble and of course we don't want that. So just uh to mention that. So first of all, here's the website.
2:23 It might be for you in Chinese, but then you can simply use the Google Translate here when you're using Chrome or in any other browser, the translate uh software that it's using. And then what we can do is go here to login and then I will choose your mail. Then you will just put in your mail address and then you have to click here on get verification code and then it will send you automatically a verification code to your email and then you can properly log in.
2:45 All right, great. And once you have done that, we are then here on the main page from uh Hunan 3D. And as you can see, there's a lot of stuff going on. So here are some 3D models that other users already created. You can also filter them if you want. But the important main thing we want to tackle and have a look at is this page over here. So we have the Vincent 3D option and the two shank 3D option.
3:07 We will focus first on Tanken 3D which is offering the single image uh generation and the multi-image uh generation and then we will move on in the next step to the Vincent 3D which is kind of the text generation and which we will have a look at otherwise we will first choose the true shank 3D. So for this one I used midjourney and in this case here I have a sci-fi soldier 3D character front view. I also took the side and back view which I will um show you in a second.
3:55 But basically I'm using Mjourney version 7 here which does a great job at generating those angles. You can of course also use for example CHTP or any other image generator that you would like to use. Once you have done that we can then simply go here and click upload pictures. You can then choose your character for example this one then that I just showed you. And then the most important thing is that uh you choose then here the model and I can recommend to use mainly JPEG images instead of PGs because PGs are hard to handle for Hunion at least for the uploading phase.
4:17 I mean this is already taking a while as you can see. It also depends of course on server capacity but otherwise uh make sure to use JPEGs. And then the most important thing is here that when you select the model that you choose here the version 2.5 instead of the version 0.2. So make sure to have that and also make sure to generate PBR map and have that turned on. As you can see it's recognizing the image now which is great.
4:40 And then what we can do is simply hit here generate. Now as you can see one last thing is here you have here the um view of today's remaining generation times which is 17 in my case and you can also invite friends and then we will get additional generation uh opportunities. So when you have done that you can simply just hit generate now to just show you quickly how it's doing the processing part. It will then uh take around 7 minutes to produce the entire model but it will be worth it for sure I can tell you.
5:30 So first it's uh creating the geometry and then it will create the texture for us. All right, great. And once it's uh done generating the model, you will see something like this here. So this interface sometimes um if it doesn't show up, it's also always a good option to go here to the white model kind of and then go back to the texture and then you will see it most of the times. So um please be patient.
5:54 Sometimes that happens, but most of the times it should optimally of course show it straight away. And as you can see, it's such a huge improvement already. I will also uh show you in comparison in a second. But actually, as you can see, detail-wise, this is such a great improvement to the late last version. In case you have seen my latest videos about Newon 3D um 2.0, as you can see also when we go without the texturing in the base model, now we have a kind of high detail.
6:21 Now, of course, uh the edges seem to be quite sharp. now uh in some cases but I think it's always better to have more detail in the model than less. So I think this is great. Um as you can see as well we have here an albido texture now which is also cool. So this is kind of the lighting image that we have and we can also see here the normal view of the of the model itself which just uh looks really great to um export it if you want to do that.
6:43 We also have now um different download options that we can choose. So for example here we have GB, OBJ, FBX and so on. And you can choose your desired uh resolution. What I figured out so far is if you want to have the PBR texturing then you um should download it in GB. For some reason it was not shown any FBX unfortunately at the moment. But for the GB it will work for sure which is great.
7:08 And then you can directly download it. The next option that we can choose is to use the multiple image mode that we have over here. So we can upload here front, rear view, left view and right view. And I can highly recommend to use this mode because it gave me so much even better results than the single view which I will also show you in the comparison in the next step. But to do that for example I also used midjourney for this one.
7:31 So in my generation phase I can show you here what I used as a prompt is basically um which I had here in the sci-fi soldier 3D character like I showed you front side back view and so on and once I had this template here in the journey version 7 did a really great job on it and kept it consistent with all the angles. What I did then is that I went to the editor once I had this image and then I simply cropped out here all the ones I need.
7:55 You can also of course do that in Photoshop if you're not using midjourney for this one. But like this you can then crop them out. Just hit here submit edit and then what it will do is that it then generate for us those different angles that we need. And once you have done that we can then simply go here and then select here uh the front view for example. Go to upload pictures. Then we will choose this one and we will do that with the other ones as well.
8:42 And I did that already as a test before the video. So uh you will always find your generated assets which is also pretty cool here on the last page which is called actually asset which makes sense and then you can choose here your u model that you had also here it says multiple view so we can just uh click on it and then what you will see is then the result of what we have and as you can see this is then the generated result of the 3D multiv- view that we have and I think it's working just great on all angles it even get us the backpack here because it then has this kind of information which is cool.
9:06 And as you can see also in the white mode um we have this really great detail.
