0:00 Um these are some of the free templates you get. um these we make for you and then we also provide captions as well as email templates that you can send to help market to these specific business classes. Um so sometimes I I spend a little bit more time on that but I want to just jump right into this content. Um so who is your ideal business customer? The first marketing meeting we had um we talked about target audience.
0:50 We talked about building a marketing strategy and how important it is. So your ideal client, your ideal specifically small business customer. So I know you probably sell other products, so you might have a different ideal client, but um your ideal small business customer, what who do they look like? When you are doing um making a persona, you can get really deep. You go into the demographic. Where do they live? How old are they? What do they do in their free time?
1:12 How long have they been in business? What was their background in? And then what kind of business are they doing? Other questions you might want to ask is um what business comes across your desk the most? What industry do you buy in the most? Do you get referrals? Who does it come from? And then where have you seen the most success? Your longest or happiest customers? These would be your ideal customer. So someone that you know that you've provided the best service for.
1:36 Um other questions to think about is do you have this data? Do you have measurable data? Can you go through your quotes or your binds and categorize by industry? Um do you keep track of all of this in a spreadsheet or an email? This will help with creating targeted email marketing messages. This was something else we talked about in a previous marketing meeting too about how important targeted [snorts] email messages are. And then um other questions to keep in mind again is your target persona.
2:23 Always keep them in the back of their m in your of your mind because how you market to them matters because if your ideal client is a Gen Z, where are they? What are they doing? You want to make sure you're where they are. If your ideal client is a boomer, you want to make sure you are where they are as well. Um, and they're on different social media platforms nowadays. They're at different events. So, keeping that in mind is really important.
2:45 So, again, we're going to talk about niche audience. I'm also going to try and use um the example of travel agents moving forward, but I also may refer to them as just a niche audience. And again, I want to reiterate, I'm not telling you to just market to one specific industry, but it doesn't hurt to have content around a specific indust industry you really love and market to them. For example, on our podcast, um, last year, we had an agent who loved food trucks and she made it her, um, basically her personality.
3:07 She wanted to write a lot of food truck business. Um, so she started like a food truck blog. She started going out to food truck festivals. She started interviewing food truck owners. Um, she was patch this because she also loved food and she also loved tacos. So, of course, like she made her niche audience something she loved. Um, uh, but that's not to say she wasn't binding business with other small businesses that were coming to her.
3:53 um she just really focused her strategy on making sure her keywords and her content reached her key audience because she knew that she could serve them well. So a marketing strategy, some of the things that you'll need are to develop industry specific messaging.
