### Intel Names New Leaders for Client Computing and AI Strategy

Intel appointed Alex Katouzian as executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing and Physical AI Group, and made Pushkar Ranade's interim chief technology officer role permanent. Both executives report directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

Katouzian joins from Qualcomm, where he led mobile, compute, and extended reality operations. He will oversee Intel's client computing business while aligning strategy around physical AI systems-robotics, autonomous machines, and AI-powered devices.

The moves reflect Intel's focus on three areas: AI PCs, edge AI deployment, and physical AI systems. Katouzian said the company is "creating the foundation for AI-driven transformation, from leading in AI PCs, to scaling AI inference at the edge, and accelerating the future of physical AI systems."

Ranade, who held the interim CTO position, now permanently leads Intel's technology strategy and special initiatives. His portfolio includes quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, photonics, and advanced materials research. He will also continue as chief of staff to Tan to keep business priorities aligned with the long-term technology roadmap.

Both appointments come as Intel seeks to accelerate innovation across AI and next-generation semiconductors. Katouzian brings decades of experience building global compute platforms, according to the company.

For executives overseeing strategy and technology decisions, these moves signal where Intel is placing its bets. Understanding the company's direction in physical AI and edge computing matters for organizations evaluating processor roadmaps and AI infrastructure investments.
