Meta has added **Spaces** to its Muse agent platform, giving users dedicated, topic-specific workspaces where the AI assistant can track projects, update information from connected apps, and collaborate toward a single goal. The feature arrives less than a week after the company launched Muse Voice for hands-free commands, marking a rapid expansion of the agent experience for its 10 million users in the U.S. and Canada.

Spaces function as breakout conversations that live in the sidebar of the Muse interface. Rather than mixing unrelated requests into one long chat thread, users can open a new Space for each project. Clicking that Space brings up a focused conversation where Muse works on that particular task. Meta describes them as "custom experiences" built around a specific topic.

"Describe an idea in chat, and Muse builds a space for you, whether that's a tracker, a planner or a project board," the company said. Examples include vacation planning, collecting recipes for a family event, a holiday gift tracker, wedding planning, and DIY project management.

#### How Spaces stay current without manual updates

Meta designed Spaces to pull in live information from third-party apps. Once a user connects the services they already use, Spaces can surface relevant changes without prompting. "Connect the apps you use, and your spaces keep themselves up to date in the background, so new concert dates, price changes, or savings progress show up without you having to ask," the company said.

This passive update capability shifts the agent from a reactive tool into something that monitors conditions on the user's behalf. For professionals managing multiple streams of information - event logistics, vendor pricing, campaign timelines - the background refresh reduces the need to manually check sources or re-prompt the assistant.

#### Zuckerberg's early experiments with the feature

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's founder and CEO, posted about Spaces on X Friday. "Playing around with spaces in Muse lately - tell Muse what you need and it builds it. I've made a BBQ game, an event tracker, and a home control dashboard. Excited to see what you build," he wrote. The examples suggest Meta is positioning Spaces for both personal and semi-professional use cases, from entertainment to household management to structured planning.

#### A quick succession of Muse updates

Spaces is the second new Muse feature in under a week. On Thursday, Meta introduced **Muse Voice**, which lets users video chat with their agent and issue verbal commands. The back-to-back releases show Meta working aggressively to flesh out the user experience around its agents, which launched less than two months before hitting the 10-million-user milestone in the U.S. and Canada.

Meta's agents - with their deliberately approachable, cartoonish avatars - compete in a growing category of personality-driven AI assistants. OpenAI has its own dotted avatars, and SpaceXAI's Grokbot debuted with a similarly playful persona. The race is pushing companies to differentiate less on raw model capability and more on how naturally the agent fits into daily workflows.

#### Why this matters for creatives, event planners, and marketing teams

Spaces introduces a project-based structure that maps more cleanly onto how creative and event professionals actually work. Instead of one sprawling conversation, teams and individuals can isolate a campaign, an event, or a product launch into its own persistent workspace. The integration with third-party apps means a Space tracking vendor quotes or RSVPs can reflect changes as they happen, cutting down on the manual cross-checking that eats into planning time. For writers and content producers, a dedicated Space could hold research threads, draft feedback, and editorial calendars in one place that updates itself - a practical alternative to juggling separate docs, spreadsheets, and chat tools.
