Omar, a remodeling carpenter in Ohio.

Omar starts his day with a kitchen remodel. The plans have a confusing corner cabinet detail. He takes a photo of the plan and asks ChatGPT: "Turn this cabinet elevation into clear notes, list the dimensions, and give me a first-pass material list for the boxes and face frames." He gets a clean list, checks it against the plan, and marks two dimensions that need field verification.

Next, he needs to frame a small bump-out for a window. He opens Claude and types the wall dimensions, stud spacing, and header size. He asks for a framing layout and an assembly order. Claude gives him a step-by-step order and a cut list. He checks the math, then heads to the saw.

After lunch, he uses Gemini to plan cuts for the cabinet plywood. He lists the sheet size, the parts he needs, and the grain direction. Gemini suggests a cut pattern that reduces waste. Omar adjusts one cut to avoid a knot, then starts cutting.

At the end of the day, he writes a quote for a built-in shelf using ChatGPT. He describes the shelf, the materials, and the finish. ChatGPT drafts a clear quote with labor and materials separate. Omar edits it, sends it, and closes his laptop. He saved about an hour and a half. He uses that time to coach his daughter's soccer practice.
