Omar starts Monday with a shipment of ceramic tiles from Spain. He needs an HS code. He opens ChatGPT and types: 'Suggest HS codes for glazed ceramic tiles, 30 cm by 30 cm, for a commercial importer. Explain why each code fits.' He checks the answer against his tariff book and picks the right one.

Next, he drafts the customs entry. In Claude, he writes: 'Draft a customs entry summary for 400 boxes of ceramic tiles, value $12,000, from Valencia to Newark. Include country of origin, quantity, and value.' Claude gives him a clean draft. Omar fixes one field and moves on.

For duties, he uses Gemini: 'Calculate the duty and landed cost for ceramic tiles with a 6% duty rate, $12,000 value, and $800 freight. Show the math.' He checks the rate and adjusts. Then he asks Gemini: 'Write a short email to my client, Lena, explaining the duty amount and when the shipment will clear.'

By 3 p.m., Omar has finished the work that usually takes until 6. He calls his daughter's school and takes her to soccer practice. The prompts did not replace his judgment. They gave him back his afternoon.
