Priya's Wednesday, two ways

8 lessons · 24 prompts

A day in the life of an Investment Analyst: what changes with these prompts.

Priya, an investment analyst at a mid-sized asset manager.

It is 8:40 on a Wednesday and Priya has three things due before lunch: a summary of a quarterly filing for a mid-cap industrial company, notes on an earnings call from the night before, and a valuation update for the portfolio manager.

She opens ChatGPT and pastes the filing into the prompt from the first lesson, asking for the three changes that matter most and the lines behind them. The summary comes back in a minute, and she checks each figure against the document.

Next she drops the earnings call transcript into Claude with the second lesson's prompt, asking for guidance changes, margin comments, and anything the CFO seemed hesitant about. Then she uses the valuation prompt in Gemini to get a starting set of assumptions and multiples, which she adjusts with her own notes from the call.

By 11:30 she has a first draft of the investment report using the fourth lesson's prompt, with her own edits and a clear recommendation. The afternoon goes to a longer conversation with the portfolio manager and a walk before the next call. The work still needs her judgment, but the reading and the blank page no longer take the whole day.
