A day in the life of an UX Researcher: what changes with these prompts.
Track progress as a memberPriya, a UX researcher at a health app company.
Priya starts Thursday with a vague request from product: 'Why do people abandon telehealth scheduling?' She opens ChatGPT and uses the Plan a Research Study prompt. She types the product question, the app name, and the 8 participants she can reach. In ten minutes she has a one-page plan with goals, method, and screening questions.
Next she opens Claude to draft an interview guide. She uses the Write Interview Guides prompt, pastes the plan, and asks for a 45-minute guide with warm-up, story questions, and a closing. She edits two questions that felt leading, then schedules the sessions.
After interviews, she drops anonymized notes into Gemini and uses the Analyze Qualitative Data prompt. She asks for themes, quotes, and a simple affinity map. Gemini groups notes into 'confusing insurance step' and 'want to reschedule without calling.' She checks each theme against the transcripts.
She uses the Write Research Reports prompt in ChatGPT to turn themes into a short report with an executive summary and three design recommendations. She sends it to the product team before lunch. With the afternoon free, she leaves at 5:30, picks up her daughter from swim practice, and cooks dinner without rushing.
