| Onboarding | Personal goals |
| Profile | Track progress |
Do this in your own tools, step by step. Ticks are saved on this device.
What app is built?
A calorie-tracking app.
What's the goal?
Publish it to the app store.
0:00 Well, I have done that and the entire process took me 14 days and exactly 5 days after the launch, I got my very first customer and I have used AI throughout the entire process with a structured workflow and a plan. And for marketing side of the things, I have used AI influencers and I posted videos on Tik Tok and Instagram which brought me traffic and customers. And now in this video, I'll show you the entire process by building a simplified version of my mobile application.
0:24 I'll show you everything from generating beautiful designs to planning the app to building a landing page with demo mockups. And you can use the same workflow for any kind of application that you can imagine. Before we get into coding, let me give you a quick demo of the end result so that you know what we are building in this course. All right. So this is the exact end result that we're going to have in this video which is a simplified version of my actual application which is published on app store.
1:10 So let me give you a quick demo. So first off we start with the onboarding process. As soon as you press this button there will be a couple of different questions so that we can get you a personalized meal plan. Here I'll say this is my gender. Let's say next. Then you can select your birthday date. You can tell everything is working as expected. And then what's your height? I'll just go with the default. This is my weight, let's say.
1:34 And I want to gain weight. And then let's say I want to go with something like 75. This is how I'm active month uh weekly. And then let's say I want to get like 1 kilos per week, which is kind of aggressive, but that's fine. Let's say next. I want to have a classic diet. Once you say next, this is going to build your plan in the background. So basically, we are sending your data to OpenAI and as you can tell, it's going to calculate then give you some details that you should get daily.
1:57 Like this is how much calorie I need to get daily to be able to hit my hit my goals. So I'm just going to say continue. And after this, we need to kind of like sign in, right? so that we can have our progress or the details saved in the application as well as in the database. Now once you sign in this is the UI that you're going to get. We have three different screens. Home screen, the food scanning screen.
2:43 Now we cannot really see the background or the camera because this is running on simulator. But if you run this in your actual phone, you will basically use the camera. So this will actually work. In the simulator, you can use your gallery if you really wanted to. So once you press this button, you can select images from your gallery and that would also work. Then we also have the profile screen. And under the profile screen, we have user details.
3:06 Then we also have a privacy policy which is something that we have actually built and deployed. And we also linked it to this button and we also have the same thing for terms of services. Now if you don't have these then your application will be rejected by Apple. Then we have sign out delete your account functionality. Again this is something that you have to have. This is not optional. Then on top of everything we have the send feedback button which is working actually with Sentry.
3:29 So your users can report a bug or give you some feedback or ask for more features in this application. And then under the home screen we have the calendar. You can go back in two weeks and if you wanted to extend it, you can do so. Then we have the streak functionality like basically every single day that you log in this will be incremented. It is just kind of like motivational feature not really anything complex. Now other than this the most important feature is going to be meal scanning.
3:53 So let's go ahead and test out. You can just select the meal from your gallery or you can take the photo as well. But since you are in simulator, I'll just show you this option. Here we can retake or just say analyze the food. We're just going to run a task in the background. So basically, we will take this photo and send it to OpenAI or any kind of AI platform. Then they will calculate the calories, protein, carbs, and fat.
4:16 Then we can either scan another food or just say done. This will be added to our meals under the home screen. So this is the entire application that we are going to build in this tutorial and at the end I'll show you how to generate AI influencers with before and after videos then how to edit them that can go viral on Instagram and Tik Tok. Now this is not yet another VIP coding tutorial but it is like a playbook that you can follow along to bring your ideas into reality with AI tools.
5:06 Throughout this course, I'll be sharing tips and tricks that you must know such as having a privacy policy in terms of services pages for your application. Otherwise, your app will be rejected by Apple or in the similar way you have to have a delete your account option. And another thing is that if you include both options like Google, then you must have Apple as well otherwise your application will get rejected by Apple once again. So these are the things that you would learn the hard way but hopefully in this video I'll share most of the things that I know.
5:30 Now when it comes to the text tag we are using some of the best tools out there and they are completely free to get started with. So you don't need a credit card to be able to follow along. We will use React Native and Expo as our framework and this is one of the best ways to build a mobile app as of 2026. You have only one codebase that can run on both iOS and Android. For authentication, we will be using Clerk which provides all kinds of sign-in options and it's as easy as switching a button.
5:54 For database, we will use Postgress which will be provided by Neon and it'll be deployed on the cloud. And for running our AI agents, we will be using trigger.deaf which is going to do most of the heavy lifting. So when we take a photo of our meal in the background a task will fire where we sent this photo to open aai to analyze the calories and macros. We will update the UI in real time and if anything fails trigger.dev will handle the retries automatically and we will store the images and optimize them using image kit.
6:40 For error tracking and monitoring we will use Sentry which also has an AI code reviewing tool that we will get into later in the video. I will leave some special links in the description that will get you free credits on all of these tools. And as usual, the source code of this project will also be free. Now, with all that being said, let's not waste any time and get started with the course. Now just before we get started I quickly want to mention that we have a school community and within this school community I have basically documented the entire journey of building my own application and publishing it to app store.
7:05 Here you can tell everything took exactly 14 days because the day zero is kind of like crash course. So everything took around 14 days to submit it to the app store and then we start with marketing and new classes will be coming every single day. So this is a community for those of you that are interested to see the entire process like having payments, you know, we have monthly, yearly plans, maybe even some weekly plans. Then how do you get through the entire submission process or something like how to implement push notifications?
7:54 And this is not just a course, but it's a live community. Here you can tell everyone is sharing their own process like motivating each other, so on and so forth. And actually, one of our students has already published their app on the app store. And just for the record, this is his app and he built it with me within our community in exactly 14 days. And just to give you some insights, like when you press one of these classes, we have specific videos for that day.
8:17 And you can always come back and doublech checkck these lessons if you're interested. So, if you want to join, I'm going to leave the link in description. And hopefully I'll see you
