Claude Projects Make Building 10x Easier
What Claude Projects are and why they shift coordination burden from you to Claude.
- Projects let you describe a goal and Claude spins up agents to do the work
- A coordinator manages tasks, threads, and order of work
- You communicate with one agent instead of managing many threads yourself
| Concept | What it does |
|---|---|
| Projects | Group work for a product, feature, or goal |
| Coordinator | Breaks work into threads and orders tasks |
| Agents | Threads that perform the actual tasks |
Do this in your own tools, step by step. Ticks are saved on this device.
What burden do Projects remove from you?
Coordination and management of multiple tasks
What does the coordinator do?
Breaks work into threads and orders them
00:00 The way that you build with Claude code might never be the same. That's because Anthropic just released Claude projects. It's a new paradigm for building with Claude code where you just tell Claude everything you wanted to do and Claude will spin up agents in the cloud to make it happen. Now, I think that building with projects makes it 10 times easier to be successful with Claude code, but it also gives us a glimpse into the
00:24 future of coding agents. That's why in this video, I'm going to teach you everything that you need to know about the new Cloud Projects feature. We'll talk about what Cloud Projects are and how they work. I'll also show you how to use Cloud Projects well so that you can be productive and successful in your work. And thirdly, I'll show you cloud projects in action with some demos on real applications in my business. Let's
00:48 go ahead and get started with this first topic of what are cloud projects and how do they work. I think the easiest way to understand what cloud projects are is by looking at this comparison that I've drawn up in front of me. So on the left here we have what the situation is today. This is how it looks like when you are building any medium to large
01:11 size project with claude. You have you as a human here on the left and then for a particular application or particular mobile app or website that you're trying to build, you'll have multiple sessions in which you have different features, different bugs, different enhancements that you're trying to make. And the key idea here is that you are the one that is managing the work and managing the
01:34 sessions and splitting these things up in order to get done. Now the big deal about Claude projects is that it takes this burden of coordination and management off you and puts it onto Claude the agent. So with claude projects what you do is that you will have one or more briefs that you send to Claude. Then you have a coordinator
01:57 inside the project which is a claude agent that takes in what you want and then what it does is that it will spin up multiple threads in order to ensure that the work that you want actually gets done. And notice the difference here is that you're just communicating with one agent. You're communicating with this coordinator agent inside the project and it's Claude that's the one that's splitting up the work into one or
02:22 more threads. So you don't need to know all of that beforehand. The big takeaway here is that you can just tell Claude what you want and it will spin up threads, pass context back and forth and report back to you when done. And the key idea here is that you'll have multiple of these projects, one for every big effort that you're doing. So for example, if you have multiple websites or multiple apps that you're
02:45 building, you might have one project for each one of those. Now to drive home this idea of why projects are a big deal. This is from the launch blog post which says that managing multiple sessions across a build used to require you to divide the work and do things like juggle handoffs and stitch the results back together. Now in a claude project, you describe what needs to get
03:08 done and Claude manages the work. That's the big takeaway here. Claude will scope the requests, delegate the work, coordinate parallel threads, review the output, and assemble the finished result. You can steer progress throughout, even from your phone, and it keeps working after you step away from your computer. That's the cloud agent split that we mentioned. So, let's just take a look at the new concept of
