Adtran wins two FTTH Innovation Awards for AI-driven network operations
Adtran received two awards at the FTTH Innovation Awards 2026 for technologies designed to help operations teams manage expanding fiber networks. The company won in the categories for active infrastructure in home networks and artificial intelligence and machine learning software.
The awards recognize Mosaic One Clarity, an AI-driven operations platform, and the SDG 8000 and 9000 Series mesh Wi-Fi solutions. FTTH Council Europe organizes the annual awards to honor technologies that improve fiber deployment, operational efficiency and user experience.
What Mosaic One Clarity does
Mosaic One Clarity combines network and subscriber data to help operations teams identify root causes of problems, prioritize issues and take guided action across multi-vendor networks. The platform applies what Adtran calls "explainable intelligence" - meaning operators can understand why the system is flagging a particular issue and what to do about it.
As fiber networks scale and become more distributed, Christoph Glingener, Adtran's CTO, said visibility alone falls short. "Teams need to know what matters most, understand root causes and take the right next step quickly," he said.
The platform embeds decision support directly into operational workflows, helping teams prioritize issues and act earlier without requiring additional expertise as networks grow.
The Wi-Fi gateway side
The SDG 8000 and 9000 Series Wi-Fi gateways run on a common software foundation called SmartOS and connect to a cloud management platform called Intellifi. They deliver multigigabit Wi-Fi across single-family homes, apartment buildings and shared spaces.
Robert Conger, GM of strategy and solutions at Adtran, said service providers now face different expectations than before. "Simply offering a fast connection is no longer the benchmark," he said. "Service providers must ensure consistent, seamless performance across the entire property."
The gateways combine high throughput with unified software and cloud visibility, giving providers a repeatable way to deliver consistent performance and reduce operational complexity.
