Financial-regulation experts are warning that the growing use of artificial intelligence in auditing and financial markets does not eliminate the need for human oversight. They argue that professional judgment remains essential to protect the accuracy of outputs and maintain public trust in market infrastructure.
Rather than treating human review as a step that occurs after an AI system has completed its work, finance leaders are being urged to embed three controls directly into the process. Review, traceability and the ability to challenge automated decisions should function as core operational requirements, not as secondary checks applied during post-processing.
