AlphaPai raises $50 million in series B funding from insurance and securities investors

AlphaPai, an AI investment research assistant built by Rabyte Technology, has closed a US$50 million Series B funding round, its third consecutive raise in the past year. The financing, announced September 15, 2026, pulls in strategic investors from across the financial sector and signals how industrial capital is now betting directly on AI that moves beyond surface-level tools into the core workflows of professional investing.

The round drew participants spanning insurance capital, securities firms, mutual funds, and industrial capital. China Insurance Investment, the national investment platform for China's insurance industry, joined the round alongside GF Xinde Investment Management, the private equity arm of GF Securities. Qiming Venture Partners, Ambrum Capital, Next Capital, Trustar Capital, and Eastern Bell Capital also participated, with existing shareholders adding to the total. China Renaissance served as exclusive financial advisor.

AlphaPai said it will direct the new capital toward model and product R&D, expanding its multi-asset client base, and deepening collaboration across the financial supply chain. The company also plans to build out its overseas presence while continuing to grow its home market.

Industrial capital moves into the workflow

The investor lineup reflects a deliberate push to embed AI into specific institutional contexts. China Insurance Investment's participation gives AlphaPai a direct foothold in insurance research and asset allocation - a domain that spans equities, fixed income, and alternatives, with long research chains and strict compliance demands. The partnership validates the product's capabilities in insurance capital scenarios while opening its AI research tools across a broader multi-asset universe.

GF Xinde Investment Management has a track record of backing AI for Finance. The Guanggu Investment Venture Capital Fund that participated in this round was co-founded by GF Xinde and several financial institutions, and it focuses on companies across the advisory industry chain - including independent advisory teams, service providers, and fintech firms. The fund operates as what the company describes as an "industry incubator" for clustered development across the advisory ecosystem.

From single-point tools to a research ecosystem

AlphaPai entered the market through high-frequency touchpoints like meetings and information processing, then moved into investment research, analysis, and institutional knowledge. It now serves more than 120,000 professional users across over 8,000 financial institutions and asset managers, ranking among global leaders in its category by website traffic.

In April 2026, the company launched PaiWork, an AI investment research workstation that brings financial data, research tools, productivity software, and knowledge bases into a single environment. The shift moved AI from isolated Q&A sessions into a complete research workflow. Since launch, AI interactions and token consumption on PaiWork have grown by tens of times, and institutional adoption has climbed steadily. Users now co-create research workflows and reuse skills, forming an emerging user-generated content ecosystem.

Two months later, AlphaPai introduced iRaB (Investment Research Agent Benchmark), an applied benchmark that tests how AI understands, analyzes, and delivers results on real investment research tasks. The same period saw the launch of the ORE (Open Research Ecosystem) Investment Research Partner Program, which now includes more than 40 brokerage research institutes, data service providers, and other industry players across data services, professional content, and industry skills.

Founder and CEO Luodan Li described the approach in manufacturing terms. "In real-world production environments, AI resembles high-end manufacturing: a systematic engineering endeavor requiring long-term accumulation," Li said. "The competitiveness of future companies lies entirely beneath the surface. It comes from the compounding effect of many incremental 5% gains, which ultimately forms a systematic advantage that is difficult to replicate."

Built in a demanding market, aimed globally

AlphaPai grew out of China's financial institutions, shaped inside real investment-research workflows and high-competition professional environments. That depth, the company argues, has produced a systematic understanding of how professional financial work gets done - how institutional processes run and how products earn adoption.

Li framed financial AI as infrastructure with effects beyond the industry itself. "The value of financial AI is not confined to the financial industry itself. It is infrastructure with a multiplier effect: a connector between capital and the real economy. Gains in financial productivity ultimately flow into better resource allocation and industrial development," Li said.

Why this matters for finance professionals

This funding round is not a bet on a chatbot. It is a bet on AI that lives inside the actual workflow - the meetings, the research memos, the asset allocation decisions. For analysts, portfolio managers, and AI Learning Path for CFOs, the signal is clear: the tools being funded now are designed to sit alongside you in the daily work, not off to the side. The investors writing these checks are the same institutions that set the standards for how capital gets deployed. Their capital is now flowing into the infrastructure that will shape how research gets done, how knowledge gets managed, and how investment decisions get made over the next decade.
