American Growth Insurance secures $70m to scale AI-native insurance brokerage

American Growth Insurance (AGI) launched with nearly $70 million in committed equity to build an AI-native insurance brokerage platform. The company acquires independent agencies and embeds machine learning into their infrastructure, aiming to reverse a market dynamic where the 50 largest US brokers control 96% of industry revenue.

Inside the AI-native operating model

Before the public launch, AGI spent a year testing its AI-first operating model across 10 agencies. The company said the approach lifted average profitability by more than 50%, driven by higher revenue generation and tighter operational efficiency. AGI plans to pass $10 million in revenue by the end of 2026.

The strategy reflects a growing use of AI for Insurance, applying custom-built models to automate workflows and support producer development. AGI installs its technology after acquiring a brokerage, rather than operating as a standalone software vendor.

Concentration at the top squeezes smaller brokers

Citing MarshBerry data, AGI highlighted the steep consolidation in US insurance distribution. The 50 largest brokers capture 96% of industry revenue, leaving smaller firms with limited scale and slower growth. AGI's model targets that gap by giving acquired agencies the operational technology to compete without building it themselves.

"American Growth Insurance is building out the next-generation, national insurance brokerage platform," said AGI CEO Brian Morgan. "AGI will deploy custom-built native AI technology, tailored to the operations of our partner firms, which is designed to facilitate collaboration and producer development."

Morgan added that unlike traditional acquirers, AGI functions as an operator seeking partnerships where agency owners shape strategy and technology. Rockbridge Growth Equity partner Tony Pulice said the firm's experience in related industries provides a road map for helping smaller brokers use technology while preserving the high-touch service their customers expect.

Why this matters for insurance professionals

AGI's launch signals that well-funded acquirers are betting on AI integration as a growth lever for independent agencies. For agency owners weighing a sale or partnership, the model introduces a new option: selling to a buyer that promises to modernize operations rather than consolidate and cut. For agents and producers, the shift toward AI-native workflows means day-to-day tools will change, and the ability to work alongside embedded machine learning systems will become a practical skill requirement.
