Anthropic launched Claude for Financial Advisors on Tuesday, a product suite that connects the AI model directly to custodians, asset managers, and wealth technology platforms including Charles Schwab, BlackRock, and Vanguard. The move embeds large language model capabilities inside the existing software stack advisory firms already use, rather than asking them to adopt a standalone tool.
The suite includes pre-built workflow skills for tasks that consume most of an advisor's workweek: pre-meeting preparation, portfolio rebalance reviews, estate and tax briefings, post-meeting notes, and prospect intake. Kitces research cited by Anthropic found that a typical advisory practice spends only one-sixth of its time in client meetings, with the rest absorbed by preparation, planning, and documentation.
Connectors, not a replacement stack
The product integrates with Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, and Zocks, alongside previously available connections to Microsoft 365, Salesforce, DocuSign, Box, FactSet, S&P Global, and Morningstar. Anthropic framed the approach as orchestration rather than platform competition.
"We aren't trying to replace any of the tools out there," said Peter Nolan, head of asset and wealth management at Anthropic. "Our goal is to drive utilization in the advisor stack today, and they [advisors] have probably an average of seven or so tools, not to replace any of those they are using now, think of us as a symphony conductor who is helping make things sing and better talk to the other parts of the symphony."
Josh Brown, CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, put a sharper point on the time argument: "I don't want my CFPs spending hours every week laboring over CRM updates and task assignments. I want them talking to clients and engaged in the planning itself, because that's the part clients truly value."
Pricing and enterprise controls
The advisor plugin is available on Enterprise plans, which include audit logs for recordkeeping. Advisors need both the Claude Co-Work plan and the Claude for Financial Advisors plug-in - the latter is free, while Nolan estimated total cost around $70 to $120 per user per month. Pricing is usage-based and transparent, he said. Firms that request a new license before the end of September 2026 receive a one-time usage credit.
Mark Gilbert, CEO of Zocks, described the integration's data logic: "The expanded collaboration between Claude and Zocks brings together data and personal client context that used to be fragmented across sources and systems. Now, every task and analysis through Claude is grounded in a more complete understanding of the client."
Why this matters for financial advisors
Anthropic is not building a new dashboard. It is wiring its model into the Schwab, BlackRock, and Orion terminals advisors already log into every morning. For advisory firm leaders, the immediate question is whether paying per-user fees - and accepting usage-based billing - returns enough time to redirect staff toward client-facing work. The pricing model means heavy users pay more, but the trade is reclaiming hours currently spent on meeting notes, compliance reviews, and portfolio rebalance prep. The integration play also signals that AI for Finance is shifting from experimental pilots to tools that slot into regulated, audit-logged production environments.
