Article on Marsh Names Jessica Fields to ...

Jessica Fields has joined Marsh in New York to lead the firm's newly created US Semiconductor and AI Compute Practice, effective Aug. 4, 2026. The practice will deliver risk advisory and insurance solutions to companies building the chips and data centers that underpin AI systems.

"Semiconductors and enabling technologies are central to digital infrastructure," said Michelle Sartain, president, US and Canada, Marsh Risk. "Jessica's appointment strengthens our ability to deliver industry-specific risk expertise as the sector continues to innovate and expand to meet growing demand for AI compute capacity."

New practice targets AI infrastructure risk

The practice draws on Marsh's advisory, emerging risk, reinsurance, and capital specialists to serve clients across the semiconductor and AI compute sectors. Fields will lead the effort from New York, coordinating specialists across those teams.

The appointment is one sign of how AI is reshaping commercial insurance, from underwriting to risk engineering. For insurance professionals, the practice reflects a broader shift toward specialized coverage for technology-driven infrastructure - a topic covered extensively in AI for Insurance analysis.

Fields brings two decades of brokerage experience

Fields joins Marsh from Aon, where she spent more than 11 years in leadership roles across New York and San Francisco. As Northern California Market Leader, she focused on developing risk capital solutions for technology and semiconductor clients. Most recently, as executive vice president, she led risk account executives in New York and supported executive-level client engagements.

Before Aon, Fields worked at Zurich and AXA XL. She brings more than 20 years of insurance brokerage and underwriting experience to the role.

Why this matters for insurance professionals

For brokers and underwriters, Fields' appointment signals that semiconductor and AI compute clients need specialists who understand both technology risk and capital markets. Marsh is betting that dedicated expertise will win business in this sector. Insurance professionals who build similar knowledge in AI infrastructure risk may find growing demand for their skills as more companies expand data centers and chip production.
