BenaVest is rolling out AI-powered renewal and client support tools from Gyde to its network of insurance agents and agencies ahead of the 2027 Medicare and Individual and Family Plan enrollment seasons. The move targets the administrative bottlenecks that typically squeeze broker capacity during the year's busiest period, when premium shifts, benefit changes, and plan exits drive more consumers to review their coverage.
The centerpiece is Gyde's renewals AI solution, which combines automated client outreach, needs assessments, plan-disruption analysis, scheduling, and AI-assisted servicing. The system runs on GydeOS and uses Gia, an intelligent assistant, to handle tasks that normally eat into an agent's time for direct client conversations.
"Renewal season is one of the busiest times of the year for insurance professionals, and agents need tools that help them manage their book without sacrificing client service or growth," said Joe Gannon, CEO of BenaVest. "Through Gyde's AI-powered technology, we're helping our agents spend less time on repetitive administrative work and more time focusing on the conversations and relationships that matter most."
How the renewal workflow changes
Starting September 15, Gia will begin texting clients on behalf of participating brokers to conduct needs-assessment outreach. The messages identify changes in a client's circumstances - demographic shifts, health status, financial situation - before renewal decisions get locked in. Once 2027 plan data becomes official, Gyde's platform runs a plan-disruption analysis that flags year-over-year changes affecting each client. That includes plan terminations, service area adjustments, premium swings, deductible and copay changes, prescription drug coverage modifications, and shifts in benefits or allowances.
Brokers can combine these disruption reports with the needs-assessment responses to quickly identify which clients need a coverage review. When enrollment opens, Gia communicates plan changes to clients and either confirms a passive renewal or schedules a plan review with the broker. Agents start their day with organized client context and pre-scheduled conversations, directing their attention toward clients who need guidance rather than sorting through administrative noise.
The time reclaimed through automation also creates capacity for new enrollments, retention work, and cross-selling across dental, vision, supplemental coverage, and Medicare products. After enrollment, Gia follows up with newly enrolled clients to confirm payments and handle common servicing questions.
Handling everyday client questions
Gia also functions as a broker copilot during client interactions. The system ingests official carrier plan documents and provides cited responses to questions about plans, benefits, formularies, and provider networks. Agents can locate relevant plan details in seconds without digging through PDFs during a conversation.
"Our focus is on giving our agents the tools they need to succeed in what will be one of the most disruptive renewal seasons we've ever seen," Gannon said. "This year our agents will have a more efficient renewals workflow backed by world-class AI tools so they can spend more of their time providing the personalized guidance, judgment, and service that clients rely on."
BenaVest agents continue to have access to nationwide carrier contracting, training through InsureUniversity, and broker support resources. The Gyde integration adds a technology layer on top of that existing infrastructure. For agencies looking at AI for Insurance adoption, the renewal cycle represents a concrete test case where administrative load directly competes with revenue-producing client conversations.
Why this matters for insurance agents
Renewal season forces a trade-off that most agents know well: the hours spent on outreach, paperwork, and plan comparisons are hours not spent enrolling new clients or strengthening existing relationships. AI tools that automate the repetitive parts of renewal preparation shift that equation. For BenaVest agents, the practical result is arriving at peak enrollment with a pre-qualified list of clients who actually need a plan review, rather than burning time on blanket outreach. The cross-selling angle matters too - when administrative work no longer consumes the day, agents have room to discuss ancillary products that clients often need but rarely get pitched during the renewal scramble.
