Bloomberg Law unveiled a new AI-powered legal intelligence experience at ILTACON 2026 in Nashville, adding tools designed to help law firms and corporate legal teams spot important developments earlier and shift from analysis to action. The company announced the new capabilities on Aug. 20, positioning them as a response to a growing problem: as AI accelerates research, analysis, and drafting, legal teams still need to figure out what deserves attention and decide what to do next.
The new experience builds on Bloomberg Law's existing content, including news, dockets, practical guidance, and market intelligence. The new capabilities will be showcased at ILTACON from August 23-27.
New capabilities in the Bloomberg Law platform
The centerpiece is BLAW AI, a new AI mode that provides a unified destination for legal questions and deeper analysis. It delivers structured, cited responses grounded in Bloomberg Law content and selected user materials.
Workspaces offer a persistent environment for organizing research, documents, AI analysis, and other materials around a matter, client, transaction, investigation, or business issue. AI agents, meanwhile, are guided workflows that help users complete repeatable legal tasks using structured inputs, selected sources, and reviewable outputs.
Bloomberg Law also previewed Watchlists, which provide a personalized view of developments relevant to the clients, matters, industries, companies, and issues legal professionals follow. The feature combines AI-powered monitoring with Bloomberg Law news and analysis to explain what changed, why it matters, and what to do next.
The company also previewed new interoperability features that bring its litigation intelligence and dockets data into AI tools outside the platform. Using the MCP integration protocol, Bloomberg Law now offers an integration with Anthropic's Claude.
Bloomberg Law has positioned these tools as a way to address the volume of AI-generated work product. In a press release, the company said the new experience helps legal teams "move more efficiently from analysis to action."
Events and demonstrations at ILTACON
On Monday, August 24, Bloomberg Law will host "Meet the New Bloomberg Law Experience," demonstrating how Bloomberg Law and Dashboard Legal are building toward a connected intelligence approach. The session is designed to show how the platform moves legal teams from awareness to action.
Further acknowledging the shift in legal work, Bloomberg Law's Mat Rotenberg, director of workflow solutions, will lead the masterclass "AI Can Do the Work. Now What?" on Wednesday, August 26. The session examines how legal organizations can coordinate people, AI agents, work, and decisions as AI-generated output becomes increasingly abundant.
Aaron Pierce, head of Bloomberg Law, will be available at ILTACON for interviews on Bloomberg Law's product strategy and the role of trusted intelligence and professional judgment in legal technology.
Why this matters for legal professionals
The capabilities signal a shift in how legal AI tools are positioned: from drafting support to judgment support. For legal teams, the distinction matters. As AI-generated drafts and research become routine, the work that still requires human judgment is assessing what's relevant, what changed, and what steps to take next. Bloomberg Law's new tools are designed to keep professionals in that loop - providing structured, cited responses and agents that produce work reviewable by a human before an action is taken.
For legal professionals evaluating AI-vendored workflow automation, the practical takeaway is this: as more legal work becomes AI-assisted, the competitive advantage lies in mastering the review and judgment side of that work. If tools like BLAW AI, Workspaces, and Watchlists become central to your workflow, the ability to quickly assess AI output with trusted context will matter more than the speed of the draft itself. That's the shift Fo Lee and entrepreneurs should start planning for now, and it's exactly the kind of skill covered in broader AI for Legal training.
