Boost Insurance Launches Atlas, an AI Portal for Specialty Commercial Brokers
Boost Insurance released Boost Atlas, an AI-enabled portal designed to compress the specialty commercial insurance placement workflow from hours to seconds. The platform automates submission ingestion, quoting, binding, and endorsements across Boost's product suite, which includes business owners policies, cyber coverage, and management liability.
Atlas integrates directly with Boost's policy administration system via API, eliminating the third-party middleware that typically slows down broker workflows. Brokers and MGAs access the portal to rate, quote, bind, and endorse policies without manual data entry or rekeying between systems.
What Atlas Does
The platform functions simultaneously as a broker portal, intake engine, agency management system, and underwriting workbench. Key capabilities include:
- AI-powered submission ingestion: Brokers upload application documents, prior policies, or client emails. The system extracts and maps data to underwriting fields, returning a pre-filled quote ready to bind.
- Email-to-quote: Brokers email a dedicated address with an application or plain-language account description and receive a quote or indication in their inbox within seconds.
- Cross-product data population: The system pre-fills fields across additional product applications from a single submission, eliminating duplicate data entry.
- Automated NAICS classification: Plain-language business descriptions automatically map to the correct industry code. Quote proposals, binders, and policy documents generate instantly without manual intervention.
- Bulk quoting: Partners export client lists from existing agency management systems and drop files into Atlas to generate hundreds or thousands of simultaneous quotes.
- Agency onboarding: New partners provision and white-label their own branded portal within hours, with no technology development required on their side.
Real-World Performance
A top-50 retail insurance firm used Atlas to generate over 3,000 indicative quotes at launch, pre-assigned to producers and ready to bind. A large MGA partner moved an active professional liability program to Boost and saw quote-to-bind times drop from days to minutes.
Infrastructure, Not Software
Boost positions Atlas as part of a broader infrastructure offering, not a standalone software product. Distribution partners access MGA compliance and licensing, A-rated carrier capacity, committed reinsurance, a proprietary policy administration system, and the Atlas portal through a single relationship.
Partners can white-label Boost's active programs and launch under their own brand in three to six weeks. Alternatively, they can bring existing books of business to Boost's platform or collaborate with Boost's team to build custom programs.
Architecture Built for AI
Boost built its infrastructure on microservices from the ground up, rather than retrofitting AI onto legacy systems. The AtlasIQ orchestration layer powers document understanding, schema mapping, cross-sell inference, and decision routing across the platform.
Boost's roadmap includes AI risk scoring, intelligent referral workflows, and AI-augmented underwriting decisions for standardized small and mid-market risks. These are the lines where AI-driven workflows deliver the largest efficiency gains for brokers and underwriters.
Boost holds delegated underwriting authority across all 50 states through multiple A.M. Best-rated fronting carriers and is backed by a panel of global reinsurers. The company is headquartered in New York and backed by investors including BHMS Investments, Canopius, RenaissanceRe, and Markel.
