BriteCore embeds AI copilots directly into insurance core platform
BriteCore launched eight AI copilots integrated into its core system for property and casualty insurers, alongside infrastructure designed to connect insurer-built and third-party AI agents into underwriting, claims, billing and servicing workflows.
The rollout marks the first phase of a strategy that embeds AI capabilities directly into insurance operations rather than layering them on top of legacy systems. At the center is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) service layer that lets insurers deploy and govern AI agents within carrier-controlled environments.
What the copilots do
The Submission Intake & Readiness Copilot processes unstructured submissions, extracts data and assesses completeness before underwriting review. BriteCore said the tool can reduce manual intake work by 80% to 90%.
The other copilots handle policy summaries, claims summaries, invoice explanations, document generation, reporting, rules management and rating adjustments.
Governance and control
BriteCore's MCP layer provides authentication, auditability, access controls, compliance monitoring and human governance for AI interactions. The company is opening the architecture to insurers and ecosystem partners to build and deploy their own AI agents using the same infrastructure.
Ray Villeneuve, BriteCore CEO, said most AI solutions in insurance are "bolted on top of legacy core systems as loosely coupled tools." BriteCore's approach embeds AI "directly into the operational core through a governed, API-first architecture."
What's next
BriteCore plans to expand AI orchestration into renewals, premium-to-cash operations, customer servicing and operational governance. The company describes the copilots as the beginning of a longer roadmap focused on multi-agent insurance workflows.
Tim Byrne, president and CEO of Great Bay Insurance Group, said the Report Copilot "has streamlined how our teams operate and communicate." He added that BriteCore's approach "keeps our people in control while helping us move faster, improve service, and make better decisions."
