Buildertrend, the residential construction management platform, acquired AI startup BizJet AI on July 28, 2026, bringing in two AI experts from Amazon and Google to bake intelligence deeper into the tools that homebuilders and contractors use every day.
BizJet AI co-founders Ruhaab Markas and John Baker will join Buildertrend as vice president of product, AI, and distinguished engineer, respectively. Their focus: expanding artificial intelligence across the platform's preconstruction, project management, financial workflows, and the client and subcontractor experience.

Dan Houghton, Buildertrend's co-founder and CEO, said the company wants software that does more than track information.
