CodeBuddy, a startup based in Nebraska, has secured $872,500 in a seed funding round led by Invest Nebraska, with participation from Cultivation Capital, Nebraska Angels, and South Dakota First Capital. The fresh capital will accelerate the company’s growth and expand its AI-driven software development platform.

Founded in 2021, CodeBuddy combines AI tools with expert mentorship to simplify software creation, especially for users without formal computer science backgrounds. Its platform supports the entire software development cycle—from installation and task planning to cloud management and architecture design.

Making Software Development Accessible

CEO and Co-Founder Devon Seacrest emphasizes the company’s goal: enabling technically capable individuals who lack a traditional four-year computer science degree to build their own software projects. CodeBuddy’s platform offers an integrated, web-based environment that blends code learning, generation, and assistance.

Rather than focusing on legacy enterprise systems, CodeBuddy zeroes in on new software development. The platform merges AI capabilities with a network of human experts, including mentors and product coaches, to provide comprehensive support and build user confidence.
