Cornerstone Insurance Plc has launched a Voicebot capability for its AI-powered virtual assistant, CiCi, allowing customers to access selected insurance services through spoken conversations. The move is part of the company's broader push to use digital tools to reduce the time and effort required for common insurance tasks.
The Voicebot, integrated into the existing CiCi assistant, uses natural language processing and speech recognition to understand spoken requests and respond in real time. Instead of navigating through phone menus or typing queries, customers can speak directly to the system and receive instant assistance on select services.
"At Cornerstone Insurance, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to make insurance simpler and more accessible for our customers," said Jafar Elamah, Head of Digitization and Projects at Cornerstone Insurance. "The introduction of CiCi's Voicebot is another step in our digital transformation journey, enabling us to deliver faster responses, greater convenience, and an enhanced customer experience."
What the Voicebot handles now
The company said the Voicebot is currently designed to support two key customer journeys: onboarding for investment-linked products, and providing guidance on motor insurance claims. Customers can ask for product information, start the onboarding process, and receive claims-related support through simple voice interactions.
This replaces the traditional experience of navigating long menu trees or waiting on hold for a human agent.
For insurance professionals, the technology represents a move toward self-service channels that can handle routine tasks without escalating to a human representative. The tool uses AI and speech recognition to interpret customer needs, making these interactions more natural than text-based chatbots.
Planned expansion
Cornerstone said that as customer adoption increases, it plans to add support for more insurance products and service journeys. The launch is part of the company's broader digital transformation strategy aimed at improving service delivery through technology.
The insurance sector has seen growing interest in voice-enabled AI assistants as a means of cutting service costs and improving response times. The segment of the broader AI for Insurance market is expected to grow steadily as carriers invest in automating front-end customer interactions.
Why this matters for insurance professionals
For insurance company staff, claims adjusters, and customer service managers, the rollout signals a clear direction: carriers are investing in voice AI to handle tasks that once required human agents. For the team at Cornerstone Insurance, this likely means more time to focus on complex claims consultations and less time spent on repetitive phone calls about basic product inquiries or policy onboarding.
