CVS Health and Google Cloud Launch Health100, an AI Platform for Patient Engagement
CVS Health has formed a new subsidiary called Health100 in partnership with Google Cloud to build an AI-powered platform that connects pharmacies, insurers, and care providers into a single interface for consumers.
The platform, powered by Google's Gemini AI, aims to reduce fragmentation in healthcare by consolidating patient data across different health systems. Consumers will access it regardless of which pharmacy, insurance provider, or clinical network they use.
How the platform works
Health100 uses agentic AI-software designed to act autonomously on behalf of users-to provide real-time support across multiple channels. The system processes data from various sources using Google Cloud's Healthcare API and BigQuery to streamline both clinical workflows and administrative tasks.
The platform will eventually integrate biometric data from wearable devices, allowing real-time health monitoring. CVS Health plans to connect the AI system with pharmacist-led care management, treating pharmacists as a clinical touchpoint rather than purely transactional staff.
Tilak Mandadi, Executive Vice President of Ventures and Chief Experience and Technology Officer at CVS Health, said the platform puts "the consumer at the centre to enable their healthcare partners to seamlessly connect with them as part of a fully integrated experience."
Data security and privacy controls
Health100 is designed to maintain HIPAA compliance, with patient data stored securely and access restricted by role. CVS Health and its customers retain full control over their data.
The platform uses Google Cloud's responsible generative AI tools, which allow CVS Health to tune AI models and review responses before they reach patients. This approach is intended to prevent unvalidated medical information from appearing in the consumer interface.
Timeline and ecosystem approach
CVS Health plans to launch Health100 in 2026. The company intends to build an open ecosystem that allows other health technology companies to create specialized applications within the platform.
More details about the platform's features and consumer interface will be released in 2026 at The Check Up, Google's annual health-focused event.
