CVS Health and Google Cloud Partner on AI-Powered Health Platform

CVS Health and Google Cloud announced a partnership to build Health100, a consumer health engagement platform that uses artificial intelligence to connect patients with pharmacies, doctors, insurers, and digital health tools in one place.

The platform launches in 2026. It will use Google Cloud's Gemini AI models to provide real-time support across multiple channels-phone, text, web, or app. CVS Health created Health100 as a separate subsidiary to serve consumers regardless of which health providers they use.

What Health100 Does

The platform gives consumers a single point of contact for health management. It handles appointment scheduling, medication refills, cost transparency, and access to pharmacist-led care management. The system uses agentic AI-software that can take actions on a user's behalf-to proactively monitor health and suggest next steps.

Future versions will integrate data from wearable devices like fitness trackers to give real-time health insights.

How It Works Technically

Health100 combines three components: health care data infrastructure that connects different providers and systems, multimodal AI fine-tuned for medical workflows, and secure cloud storage that meets HIPAA requirements.

Google Cloud handles the infrastructure and AI models. CVS Health maintains its own security controls. Patient data stays under patient and provider control, with safeguards against AI responses that contain unvalidated medical information.

The Broader Strategy

CVS Health operates 9,000 pharmacies and 1,000 clinics. The company manages pharmacy benefits for 87 million people and serves 37 million through insurance products. Health100 aims to convert these existing touchpoints into coordinated care.

Tilak Mandadi, executive vice president at CVS Health, said consumer engagement drives better health outcomes. "We are putting the consumer at the center to enable their health care partners to seamlessly connect with them as part of a fully integrated experience," he said.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, said the partnership applies AI to reduce the friction in health care. "By applying Google Cloud's secure infrastructure and Gemini's multimodal capabilities to the complexities of medicine, CVS Health is creating a personalized and proactive end-to-end health care experience," he said.

What's Next

CVS Health plans to open Health100 to third-party developers who want to build specialized applications on top of the platform. More details will be shown at Google's annual health event in March 2026.
