Docusign and Harvey Connect Legal AI to Contract Workflows

Docusign and Harvey announced a partnership that links Harvey's legal reasoning platform with Docusign's contract management system. The integration lets legal teams move from AI-powered analysis directly into agreement execution without switching tools.

Harvey, an AI platform used by law firms and Fortune 500 companies, handles legal research, document review, and contract drafting. Docusign manages the workflows that route agreements through organizations for approval and signature. Together, they address a friction point: legal teams currently analyze contracts in one system, then manually move that work into another for execution.

How the integration works

Legal professionals can ask Harvey to retrieve specific agreements from Docusign, analyze them against applicable law, and get answers grounded in the actual contract text. When changes are needed, teams can launch Docusign workflows directly from Harvey to generate amendments and route them for approval.

In the reverse direction, Docusign's Iris assistant now surfaces Harvey's legal reasoning within the contract review interface. Teams can generate risk summaries and support approvals without leaving Docusign.

Scale and scope

Docusign serves 1.8 million customers across 180 countries. Harvey counts 1,500 customers in 60 countries, backed by investors including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, and Andreessen Horowitz.

The partnership reflects both companies' focus on reducing manual work in legal operations. Docusign CEO Allan Thygesen said the integration brings "expert legal intelligence directly into Docusign's agreement workflows." Harvey CEO Winston Weinberg framed it as connecting "legal reasoning with agreement workflows" to speed deal cycles without sacrificing governance.

For legal teams managing high-volume transactions, the integration addresses a specific operational gap: the need to move between separate tools when analyzing contracts and executing them.
