DRAI Health Appoints Emergency Physician as Senior Medical Advisor

DRAI Health, a healthcare technology company, named Dr. Joy Hardison Evers as Senior Medical Advisor on May 9. Evers is a board-certified emergency physician and founder of Healthtopia Clinics who will oversee clinical strategy and the integration of physician practices into DRAI Health's care model.

Evers will guide product development, manage medical operations across acquired practices, and ensure care models meet standards for quality and patient experience. She reports to CEO Steve Krause.

Background and Experience

Evers has spent more than two decades in clinical care, medical leadership, and digital health. At Healthtopia Clinics, she built an integrated model combining primary care, urgent care, and integrative medicine into a single patient experience.

Her prior roles include Chief Medical Officer at Vivace Health Solutions, Chief Medical Information Officer at AristaMD, and physician advisor to Mayo Clinic and Livongo Health. She holds an MD from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and an MPH from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, with an emergency medicine residency from the University of Arizona.

Evers also serves as Liaison for Integrative Medicine and Adjunct Professor at Bastyr University.

Why This Matters

Healthcare executives face pressure to lower costs while improving outcomes. Fragmented care systems and inconsistent quality remain persistent problems. Evers' appointment signals DRAI Health's strategy to address these issues through physician-led models paired with AI tools.

"DRAI Health is tackling healthcare's biggest challenges: fragmented care, rising costs, and inconsistent outcomes," Evers said. "I'm excited to help scale physician-led, AI-powered care models that are better for patients, providers, and the system as a whole."

For executives building or scaling healthcare operations, this move reflects a broader trend: AI for Healthcare works best when clinical expertise guides implementation. Strategy leaders managing digital health initiatives should consider how to integrate physician input early in product and care model design.
