EOT Launches ChronX, an AI System for Predicting Industrial Equipment Failures
EOT announced ChronX, a predictive operations system that uses AI to detect equipment failures before they happen. The platform turns operational data into actionable intelligence for engineers, helping them identify failure patterns and intervene before production stops.
Most industrial organizations invest heavily in AI but struggle to move beyond dashboards and basic anomaly detection. ChronX addresses this gap by letting operational engineers build predictive models directly from equipment data without requiring data science teams or complex coding.
How ChronX Works
The system uses a time-series transformer AI engine that learns how equipment behaves over time. Rather than monitoring isolated alarms and thresholds, it tracks relationships between pumps, compressors, flows, pressures, and temperatures to understand how failures develop.
The workflow has three steps:
- Prepare: Ingest and normalize operational data to make it AI-ready
- Train: Build and refine predictive models using historical data and operational expertise
- Guard: Deploy models to monitor live equipment, predict remaining useful life, and recommend interventions
The platform integrates with existing historians, SCADA systems, OPC-UA, and MQTT protocols, and runs on on-premises, cloud, or hybrid infrastructure.
What This Means for Operations Teams
ChronX amplifies the expertise of operational engineers by helping newer staff spot patterns that experienced veterans would catch. The system learns directly from industrial equipment data without requiring massive data science projects.
CEO Matt Oberdorfer said the platform gives engineers "an exceptional innovation" by understanding equipment behavior in real time. "Most engineers only see failure signals after operational impact has already begun," he said.
