Connected insurer Flock has added an AI agent to its fleet portal, giving every customer a dedicated risk analyst trained on more than 600 million miles of real-world driving data. The tool, named Jay, identifies risks, flags drivers who need additional training, and delivers real-time claims updates - turning a reactive insurance process into a proactive management function.
What the AI agent does inside the portal
Jay lives inside the Flock portal and studies each fleet in detail. It tracks every vehicle, pinpoints which drivers could benefit from further coaching, and monitors claims activity as it happens. Fleet managers get a continuous stream of specific, data-backed actions rather than static monthly reports.
The system draws on a dataset built from over 600 million miles of driving. That scale lets it spot patterns that a human analyst might miss, such as subtle correlations between certain routes, times of day, and incident frequency. For fleets looking to reduce claims costs, this shifts the focus from post-accident paperwork to AI for Insurance that prevents losses before they happen.
Pilot results and broker rollout
The launch follows a pilot with Flock's existing fleet insurance customers. 87% of participants asked for ongoing support after the trial, signaling strong demand for always-on analytical help. Flock is also giving the same tool to every broker who places business with them, so brokers can monitor risks across their entire book of fleet clients.
CEO on getting ahead of accidents
Ed Leon Klinger, CEO of Flock, said: "Every fleet has daily questions about risk, policies, vehicles and claims, but many teams don't have the time or the tools to answer them."
He added: "We believe this is the future of insurance: getting ahead of the problem, and helping customers prevent accidents before they even happen. And we haven't stopped at end-customers; every broker who places business with us now gets the same tool for every fleet on their book as well."
Why this matters for management
Fleet managers often juggle dozens of vehicles and drivers with limited data science support. Jay automates the heavy analytical lifting, surfacing clear, prioritized actions - which driver needs a defensive driving refresher, which route is seeing a spike in minor incidents. This isn't a dashboard you have to interpret; it's a set of recommendations backed by 600 million miles of evidence. For management teams, it means fewer claims, lower insurance friction, and a direct line from data to daily decisions. The broker angle also means that third-party advisors can now bring the same level of insight to multiple fleets, raising the standard for AI for Management across the industry.
