Guidewire Embeds AI Assistant Into Insurance Workflows
Guidewire launched ProNavigator, an AI assistant built directly into its core insurance software, on April 16. The tool surfaces role-specific guidance for underwriters, claims adjusters, billing specialists, and customer service representatives at the moment they need to make decisions.
ProNavigator appears within PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter, the company's policy and claims management systems. It answers questions grounded in an insurer's own documents and data, with citations showing where information came from.
What ProNavigator Does
The assistant helps insurers:
- Scale expertise by providing accurate answers tied to company-specific source material
- Maintain control through role-based access restrictions and audit trails
- Reduce time spent on manual research and decision-making
- Stay current with updates across software releases without extra maintenance work
Amy Mollin, vice president of product management at Guidewire, said the tool gives "insurance professionals exactly the right information, right when they need it." She emphasized that it works within existing workflows rather than requiring separate systems.
Broader Platform Updates
ProNavigator ships as part of Guidewire's Palisades release, which also includes updates to pricing, claims handling, and developer tools. The company expanded PricingCenter to work inside PolicyCenter for personal and commercial lines, letting pricing teams adjust rates across channels from one place.
For claims teams handling London Market business, Guidewire redesigned the claims adjuster experience. Workers' compensation teams now get a new template with self-service access to financial data and predictive information on litigation outcomes.
Developers can use the Jutro Developer Assistant to build digital experiences faster, though this feature is currently available only to early access customers.
The Governance Question
Guidewire emphasized that ProNavigator enforces role-based access controls, meaning only authorized users see specific documents. The system maintains audit trails showing what information was accessed and when. This setup addresses a core concern for insurance firms: ensuring AI recommendations stay within compliance boundaries and remain traceable.
More than 570 insurers in 43 countries use Guidewire's core systems. The company operates the largest partner ecosystem in P&C insurance, with over 1,700 successful implementations on record.
