HanmiGlobal to host global summit on AI in construction project management
HanmiGlobal, a construction project management firm, will host an international summit on June 19 in Seoul to examine how AI is reshaping the industry. The event marks the company's 30th anniversary and brings together academics and executives from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
David Whysall, chief operating officer of Turner & Townsend, a U.K.-based PM firm, will deliver the keynote address on growth strategy and PM's role in an AI-driven environment.
Andre Borrmann from the Technical University of Munich and Rafael Sacks from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology will present research on AI applications in construction. Lee Kang, an architectural engineering professor at Yonsei University, will moderate a panel that includes executives from HanmiGlobal and POSCO E&C.
What the summit will cover
The discussion will focus on shifts in the global PM industry and how companies are using AI to improve project delivery. Panelists will also explore how academia and industry can work more closely together.
Specific technologies on the agenda include digital twins, building information modeling, AI-powered process monitoring, and system automation.

HanmiGlobal was the first company to introduce formal project management practices to South Korea. The company said the summit reflects its effort to position the PM sector for growth as AI tools become standard across construction.
