Harvey has agreed a strategic partnership with UK-based AI legal drafting platform Avvoka, combining the legal tech company's AI platform with Avvoka's document engine. The deal lets legal teams draft from their own firm's bespoke templates, powered by Avvoka, directly inside Harvey's platform - meaning a document can move through the full case process without leaving Harvey.
Avvoka is a legal document drafting and automation platform that helps lawyers identify document variables and clauses using AI, and transform existing legal precedents into templates. The integration uses the Model Context Protocol to connect the two systems.
What the partnership changes
Nate Schlein, head of product business development at Harvey, said: "Lawyers shouldn't have to choose between fluent drafting and the certainty of a firm-approved standard. With Avvoka connected to Harvey via the Model Context Protocol, they get both, without ever leaving Harvey."
David Howorth, co-founder of Avvoka, said Harvey has built a drafting experience that is "a real step change" in how AI contributes to legal work. "We add the other half. Generative AI is right for the genuinely ambiguous parts of a draft, and a drafting engine like Avvoka is right for the parts that aren't - templates, clause libraries, structured fallbacks, all in the firm's own style and voice. That now runs deterministically inside Harvey."

Avvoka's background
Avvoka was founded in 2016 by Howorth and director Eliot Benzecrit, who both began their careers at Magic Circle firms - Howorth as a trainee solicitor at Linklaters and Benzecrit as an associate at Slaughter & May. The London-based firm recently launched Curate, a tool that helps law firms organise existing legal documents and precedents.
In March, Avvoka secured £14m in financing in a round led by UK billionaire couple Mark and Lindy O'Hare through their private investment firm Valhalla Ventures. The O'Hares founded financial data company Preqin and sold it to Blackrock for £2.5bn last year.

Harvey's expanding partnerships
The Avvoka deal is the latest in a series of partnership agreements Harvey has secured. In May, it announced an alliance with Swiss legal AI intelligence startup DeepJudge, whose platform lets legal teams integrate previous work and decision-making into Harvey's workflows. In March, it partnered with Anthropic and Intapp, which specialise in compliance, risk and client lifecycle software for law firms.
This week Harvey unveiled its next-generation platform, Harvey II, which brings together four main features including AI lawyer personalisation tool Memory.
