INSEAD has reached two milestones in AI-enabled learning: the commercial launch of its first Immersive AI Cases through INSEAD Publishing and the expansion of its Immersive Learning portfolio to more than 40 AI-powered experiences. The moves translate years of internal experimentation into products that any educator can license, bringing interactive, AI-driven case teaching beyond the school's own campuses in France, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, and San Francisco.
The first three Immersive AI Cases are available now. They place learners in dynamic environments where they can take on active roles, test decisions, and interact with AI bots representing case protagonists. Some bots also offer AI for Education feedback tailored to each learner's responses. The cases cover renewable energy strategy, German copycat entrepreneurship, and a high-risk fashion platform play, authored by Aldona Kapacinskaite, Michaël Bikard, and David Dubois respectively.
How the immersive portfolio is built
Since 2023, when INSEAD launched what it calls the world's largest XR immersive learning library for management education, the portfolio has grown to include several distinct formats. AI Role Plays let users practice decision-making in realistic scenarios and receive personalized performance feedback. VR Experiences, numbering more than 30, deliver simulations and field trips in virtual reality, now enhanced with AI components.
The school also offers Simulations - adaptive, scenario-based digital experiences that respond in real time to participants' choices - and Immersive Online Modules that combine AI role plays, VR, and simulations into asynchronous learning journeys. A separate track of Immersive Teaching Workshops helps educators develop the skills to integrate these tools into their own classrooms.
Adoption inside and outside INSEAD
More than 40 INSEAD faculty members are now teaching or developing immersive experiences. Over 40,000 learners from 15 countries have used them. The commercial release through INSEAD Publishing means other business schools and corporate learning teams can license the AI cases without building the underlying technology themselves. Dean Francisco Veloso framed the shift as a design choice, not a technology race. "The future of management education will not be about choosing between human expertise and AI, but about bringing the two together in ways that deepen learning and strengthen judgement," he said. "We are putting this principle into practice by using AI and immersive technologies to transform what and how we teach, while keeping human insight and responsible leadership at the centre of learning."
Professor Lily Fang, Dean of Innovation and Research, said the school is moving beyond experimentation. "Developing over 40 AI-powered experiences reflects our commitment to turning these innovations into meaningful and scalable learning experiences. Our goal is for these experiences to have an impact both within INSEAD and across a wider education community."
