Inswave hosted 32 representatives from major Japanese IT firms at its Seoul headquarters on Sept. 4 to demonstrate its AI-based development platform and discuss business cooperation, the company said Sept. 8. The push targets Japan's energy, public, and manufacturing sectors, where demand for enterprise-grade development tools that prioritize stability and security is growing.
The delegation of executives and engineers reviewed Inswave's WebSquare AI, a platform that uses generative AI across the full web application lifecycle - from publishing and coding through testing and operations management. Inswave positioned the tool as an AI agent-based UI/UX development platform, not merely a code generator.
Spec-driven development as a core strategy
Central to Inswave's pitch was spec-driven development (SDD), an approach that generates and validates outputs against formal development specifications. The company said SDD aims to build an enterprise environment that manages development quality and reliability, moving beyond simple code generation. This matters for sectors where compliance and traceability are non-negotiable.
Inswave has delivered web standards technologies across more than 4,000 projects for about 900 customers in South Korea. That track record, the company argued, gives it credibility to apply generative code techniques in finance and public-sector environments where failure is expensive.
The Japan playbook
The Seoul meeting is the opening move in a broader campaign. Inswave plans follow-up discussions with local IT companies and potential customers through its Japanese subsidiary, Inswave Japan. The subsidiary gives the company a direct channel to convert demonstrations into contracts without relying on third-party distributors.
"We will use Inswave Japan as a foothold to expand engagement with local partners and create tangible business cooperation opportunities in the Japanese market," said Eo Se-ryong, chief executive officer of Inswave.
