Kazakhstan and South Korea will launch a joint dual-degree bachelor's program in information security and artificial intelligence, the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education announced this week. The program, set to begin under a 1+2+1 academic model, allows students to earn degrees from both Almaty University of Humanities and Economics (AHEU) and Seoul Cyber University (SCU).
Partnership built on existing ties
The agreement follows a memorandum of understanding signed by the two universities in December 2025. The discussion between Kazakh Minister Sayasat Nurbek and SCU leadership solidified the plan, according to the ministry's press service.
Under the proposed structure, students will spend their first and fourth years at AHEU and their second and third years at SCU. The program targets degree 6B06107 in Information Security and Artificial Intelligence.
