Keychain, an AI-driven consumer packaged goods manufacturing platform, raised a $30 million Series B in 2025 to expand its software for restaurant and foodservice brands developing packaged products. The funding, bringing the company's total to $68 million, supports the launch of KeychainOS, an operating system designed to manage the entire product development lifecycle from supplier discovery to production execution.
Streamlining supplier discovery
The traditional product development process relies on trade-show meetings, spreadsheets and manual supplier searches. Keychain's Search & Discovery tools allow brands to browse a database of more than 50,000 global manufacturers. Users can filter by product type, packaging material, certifications and allergen requirements. The platform uses AI to translate plain-language product ideas into structured manufacturing and packaging specifications.
Managing enterprise sourcing
Keychain 360 serves as an enterprise-grade supply chain management platform. It centralizes supplier discovery, relationship management and product development workflows. This system captures institutional knowledge that typically remains scattered across inboxes and personal networks. Teams can compare suppliers across capabilities, pricing, capacity and risk to make sourcing decisions.
Operating the manufacturing floor
The new KeychainOS shifts the focus to the manufacturers themselves. It includes modules for intelligent purchasing, inventory management, production automation and end-to-end traceability. The purchasing module predicts demand and generates recommendations based on real-time inventory and production plans. Traceability features link data from raw materials through finished goods to support quality control and compliance.
Why this matters for product development
Restaurant and foodservice brands increasingly move into branded sauces, frozen meals and retail products, but they often lack internal manufacturing expertise. This platform gives product development teams a structured way to identify manufacturing partners, generate technical specifications and manage production pipelines. By consolidating supplier discovery and production management into a single system, teams can move from concept to commercialization without relying on fragmented manual processes.
