Legion Technologies Welcomes Marcus Beaver as Strategic Advisor

Legion Technologies, a key player in workforce management (WFM), has appointed Marcus Beaver as Strategic Advisor to the CEO. This move supports Legion’s growth ambitions across the UK and Europe.

Marcus brings over 25 years of leadership experience in Human Resources and Payroll technology. Most recently, he was Country Leader for UK & Ireland at Strada, where he led business growth and advised on HR and Payroll transformation, systems implementation, change management, and outsourcing.

Industry Expertise and Strong Partnerships

Marcus' background includes senior roles at Accenture, KPMG, and Oracle, giving him deep insights into the HR and Payroll landscape. He has built strong partnerships with major technology providers like SAP, Workday, and Oracle, many of which align with Legion’s technology and services partners.

In his advisory role, Marcus will focus on scaling Legion’s presence following a $50 million growth investment led by Riverwood Capital in 2024.

Addressing Workforce Challenges in Retail, Hospitality, and Healthcare

UK and European businesses in retail, hospitality, healthcare, and services face rising operational costs and staff shortages. A recent survey found that 33% of UK businesses plan to reduce headcount due to increased employer National Insurance Contributions (NICs), while 20% have already made cuts. UK Hospitality warns payroll costs will rise by £3.2 billion.

Adopting AI-powered WFM solutions helps businesses cut inefficiencies, reduce costs, and improve employee satisfaction. These benefits support better retention and provide an edge in a competitive labour market.

Marcus Beaver on Legion’s Platform Potential

“Legion’s platform goes beyond traditional time management and rostering. Customers in complex, labour-intensive sectors report improved labour efficiency and employee experience through AI-driven WFM,” Marcus said.

Research from Legion’s 2025 State of the UK Hourly Workforce report highlights that 63% of hourly workers plan to leave their jobs within 12 months. This figure rises to 79% among workers aged 18-24, with pay and flexibility as major factors in turnover.

Leadership Perspective

Sanish Mondkar, Founder and CEO of Legion, added, “Marcus joins at a crucial time as employers face urgent turnover and cost pressures. Investing in AI-powered workforce management can help businesses improve productivity, cut costs, and build a resilient workforce ready for future challenges.”

Marcus Beaver will speak at the Hybrid People 1st Leaders Exchange Breakfast on July 10, 2025, in London. This invite-only event, hosted by People 1st in partnership with Legion, gathers HR and WFM leaders to discuss AI’s role in reducing labour costs and enhancing workforce planning.
