Naked Insurance has deployed a native ChatGPT app that generates final, binding car insurance quotes-the first company to do so. The app connects directly to Naked's live underwriting and rating engine, meaning quotes are actual premiums rather than estimates requiring additional steps.

Users answer questions in natural language and can adjust coverage details like excess amounts to see real-time premium impacts. The app currently supports both comprehensive and third-party-only car insurance.

Not meant to replace existing channels

Naked's website and mobile app remain faster for getting quotes, buying cover, or filing claims. The ChatGPT integration signals the company's belief that AI assistants will become primary financial services interfaces in coming years.

Alex Thomson, Naked's co-founder, said: "Our app and website are still the best way to use Naked today. But we believe AI assistants will, in time, become one of the primary ways people interact with financial products, and we want to be ready for that next industry shift."

Where AI assistants could reshape insurance management

AI assistants that interact conversationally, remember preferences, and organize information could eventually handle routine insurance administration automatically. A customer might set preferences once and let their assistant track renewal dates, gather competing quotes, explain differences, and switch policies if better options emerge.

This would reduce manual form-filling, website navigation, and policy document comparison. Thomson said: "We are not waiting for AI interfaces to go mainstream. We are making sure our technology is ready when our customers are."
