Naver and Nvidia Collaborate to Build Sovereign AI Systems and Expand AI Data Center Operations

Naver Cloud has taken a significant step toward AI sovereignty in Southeast Asia by partnering with Siam AI Cloud, a leading Thai artificial intelligence company. The collaboration focuses on developing a Thai-language large language model (LLM) and an AI agent specialized in Thailand’s tourism sector, a key industry in the region.

This partnership marks Naver’s first major initiative to export its sovereign AI strategy beyond South Korea. The agreement was announced during the Nvidia Cloud Partner Summit in Taiwan, where Naver Cloud and Siam AI Cloud represented their countries as exclusive partners.

During the summit in Taiwan, Naver’s leadership, including CEO Choi Soo-yeon and Chair Lee Hae-jin, met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The discussions centered on strategies for developing sovereign AI systems and expanding large-scale AI data center operations.

Additionally, the Naver delegation engaged with Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan’s largest telecommunications operator, to explore broader expansion strategies for the Southeast Asian market, reflecting Naver’s commitment to regional growth.
