Novara acquires Ensogo to expand AI-powered operational risk and sustainability platform
Novara acquired Toronto-based Ensogo to expand its operational risk and sustainability platform. The system automates compliance and tracks Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

Novara has acquired Toronto-based Ensogo to broaden its AI-powered operational risk and sustainability platform. The move integrates Ensogo's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) software into Novara's Flex platform, giving organizations in high-risk industries new tools to predict risks and automate compliance.
Platform integration and capabilities
Novara operates the Flex and Risk Management Center platforms for safety and operational risk. Ensogo brings an AI-native sustainability performance management system focused on ESG compliance. The combined platform will support predictive risk modeling and natural language analytics for safety data. It will also automate compliance workflows, manage ESG data collection, and track carbon accounting across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
Executive leadership changes
Ensogo co-founder and CEO Elie Mouzon joins Novara as chief strategy officer. He will oversee AI, sustainability, and operational risk initiatives. Ensogo co-founder and chief technology officer Tommy Ng becomes vice president of AI engineering to drive Novara's agentic AI development. Novara also highlighted its growing executive team, including Chief Technology Officer Dave Lundstrom and Chief Product Officer Jade Hendrix. Executives overseeing this integration may benefit from an AI for Executives & Strategy approach to align these new capabilities with broader corporate objectives.
Market expansion
The transaction grows Novara's footprint in Canada. It strengthens the company's position across manufacturing, mining, energy, oil and gas, construction, and other operationally intensive sectors.
Industry perspective
"Novara is building the next generation of operational risk management: connected, predictive and AI-driven," said Elie Mouzon, incoming chief strategy officer of Novara. "The market is moving beyond fragmented, manual, and reactive processes toward intelligent systems that help organizations anticipate risk before it becomes an incident, compliance gap, or operational issue. By combining Ensogo's AI-native sustainability capabilities with Novara's operational risk platform, we have an opportunity to deliver a new layer of risk intelligence across EHS and sustainability programs."
Michael Bruns, chief executive officer of Novara, added that the acquisition helps the company deliver AI capabilities that drive operational outcomes. He noted it moves the platform beyond safety into broader environmental and sustainability risk management.
Why this matters for executives and strategy
The acquisition signals a shift from siloed safety reporting to predictive, AI-driven environmental and operational risk management. Leaders in heavy industries must evaluate how integrating ESG data with operational risk platforms can preempt regulatory penalties and uncover hidden productivity gains. For teams tasked with building these capabilities, targeted resources like an AI Learning Path for Sustainability Analysts can support the technical transition.
