OpenAI education head says AI readiness must be built into the baseline framework of education at FIIBX launch

FIIB launched its new FIIBX curriculum, replacing traditional exams with a deliverable-based system across six career pathways and ten specialized tracks built with BCG, FedEx, JPMorgan, and KPMG. OpenAI education head says AI readiness must be built into the baseline framework of education at FIIBX launch

Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB) launched the operational details of its new FIIBX curriculum in New Delhi on June 20, 2026, unveiling a postgraduate management program that abandons traditional academic structures in favor of career-pathway design. The launch event featured Raghav Gupta, OpenAI's Head of Education for India and Asia Pacific, who said the program embeds AI capability development as a core thread rather than treating it as a supplementary tool.

The FIIBX framework sorts students into six professional destinations: Consulting and Strategy, Marketing and Growth, Finance and FinTech, Operations and Analytics, People and Organization, and Founders and Venture. Within those domains, ten specialized career tracks align with explicit corporate competency frameworks, replacing generic specializations. Faculty designed the system alongside senior leaders from BCG, FedEx, JPMorgan, and KPMG.

A framework built from the ground up

Raghav Gupta said the institutions that will lead over the next decade are those designing for AI capability from the start. "It seems FIIB has done exactly that by treating AI readiness not as a standalone software tool or an afterthought, but as a core capability thread built directly into the program's baseline framework," he said.

Radhika Shrivastava, President and CEO of FIIB, described a fundamental shift in the relationship between knowing and doing. "AI has made knowledge retrieval instantaneous and universal. What organizations now need from graduates is not the knowledge itself, but the judgment to use it, the capability to apply it under pressure, and the ability to keep adapting as the tools and conditions shift," she said. "That is not a skills agenda. It is a redesign problem. FIIBX is our answer to it."

Proof of capability over test scores

The program replaces traditional exams with a deliverable-based assessment system. Students work through professional challenges that include missing information and ambiguity, using two proprietary engines: ActionWorks, which runs live problems and simulations, and EvidenceWorks, which captures output as role-mapped proof of capability. Graduates leave with a body of work rather than a transcript.

FIIB, founded in 1995, holds AACSB accreditation and PRME Champion status. The New Delhi-based school has positioned FIIBX as a rebuild of its institutional approach for what it calls a variable, AI-driven future.

Why this matters for education professionals

Curriculum designers and academic leaders face a structural question that FIIBX forces into the open: whether to bolt AI literacy onto existing programs or rebuild the program architecture around it. The FIIB model treats career pathways as the organizing principle and uses AI as a capability layer woven through every track. For educators mapping courses to job outcomes, this means shifting from course-level AI additions to program-level integration - a harder but more durable approach. The shift from testing to evidence-based assessment also raises a concrete benchmark for what graduates must produce, not just what they know. For those exploring the broader integration of AI in teaching contexts, resources like the AI Learning Path for Teachers offer a parallel framework for faculty development.
