OPM Partners With Scale AI and Eight Tech Firms to Modernize Federal Government

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management announced that nine technology companies, including Scale AI, will support the U.S. Tech Force initiative - a government-wide effort to recruit technical talent and accelerate modernization across federal agencies.

The partners are Scale AI, Arista Networks, Armada, Cisco, Cognition AI, Cognizant, Payward, Moveworks from ServiceNow, and Wiz. They will contribute expertise, training, and resources to strengthen the federal government's technical workforce.

What the Partnership Covers

Participating companies will provide technical training, executive engagement opportunities, and specialized programming for Tech Force participants. They can also nominate employees for temporary government service assignments, giving agencies access to private-sector expertise on modernization projects.

OPM Director Scott Kupor said the partnerships bring "world-class engineering expertise into public service" at a time when modernizing federal technology is critical.

Scale AI's Role in Government AI Adoption

Scale AI's involvement reflects the growing importance of artificial intelligence to government operations and national security. The company has expanded its presence across federal agencies in recent years, supporting AI for Government adoption and helping organizations deploy machine learning capabilities.

A Scale AI spokesperson said the company is "proud to join the U.S. Tech Force initiative and bring its decade of AI expertise" to support government technology modernization. The company noted that AI is "increasingly important as AI becomes more central to national security and critical public infrastructure."

Broader Technology Coverage

Beyond AI, the partner group covers infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Cisco and Arista Networks bring enterprise infrastructure expertise. Wiz specializes in cloud security. Cognizant brings digital transformation experience. Armada, Cognition AI, Payward, and Moveworks add capabilities in edge computing, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and workplace automation.

Addressing the Federal Talent Gap

Federal agencies face increasing pressure to modernize legacy systems, strengthen cybersecurity, and adopt emerging technologies. The Tech Force initiative creates pathways for technologists to move between government and industry, establishing a sustainable talent pipeline for long-term digital transformation.

These partnerships position private-sector companies to help bridge the gap between technology development and government implementation. For federal employees, the initiative signals expanding opportunities to work with cutting-edge tools and collaborate directly with industry experts on critical modernization projects.
