Panasonic targets doubling of AI device sales by 2029
Panasonic Holdings Corporation plans to double its AI-related device sales and triple its data center energy storage business by the fiscal year ending March 2029, the company said in a June 2026 investor presentation.
The growth targets rest on major spending increases in manufacturing capacity, research and development, and supply chain infrastructure. The company is betting that demand for AI infrastructure and power solutions will sustain through the end of the decade.
Where the investment goes
Panasonic is concentrating resources on three areas: AI infrastructure hardware, advanced power systems for data centers, and what it calls "customer co-creation"-essentially working with clients to develop custom solutions.
The energy storage business represents the more aggressive target. Tripling the data center power systems unit would require substantial new production lines and supply agreements for battery components and related materials.
Sales implications
