Peel Mutual Insurance Company, an Ontario-based mutual insurer, selected Guidewire Cloud on June 11, 2026, to modernize its core operations and accelerate AI-driven automation. The move provides the infrastructure needed to handle more efficient claims processing and proactive risk management across all its business lines.
Implementation and core upgrades
The Canadian insurer will deploy the cloud platform across all its lines of business. NXT Level Technologies, a consulting select member of the Guidewire PartnerConnect programme, will provide implementation support. This foundational shift replaces older legacy systems with a more flexible architecture.
Alongside the cloud migration, Peel Mutual recently adopted Guidewire's embedded intelligent AI assistant. This built-in tool uses an insurer's internal knowledge base and core system context to offer insurance-specific guidance and actions for knowledge workers. The setup supports broader AI for Insurance strategies by embedding intelligent tools directly into daily workflows rather than requiring separate applications.
Analytics and executive perspective
The insurer will also deploy integrated data analytics tools. These tools use curated datasets to surface insights, giving teams a clearer picture of current operational and financial conditions. This capability allows for better Data Analysis without relying on manual report generation.
Peel Mutual chief operating officer Matt LeMaire highlighted the strategic value of the migration. "Moving to Guidewire Cloud is a significant step in Peel Mutual's long-term strategy, enabling us to accelerate innovation and unlock new opportunities," LeMaire said. "This transition deepens our partnership with Guidewire and NXT Level Technologies, providing the agility, durability, and data-driven insights we need to proactively serve our policyholders."
Guidewire CCO David Laker commented on the adoption. "Peel Mutual's adoption of Guidewire Cloud builds on their existing strengths, enabling them to further simplify core operations and unlock the potential of AI-enabled capabilities," Laker said. "We're pleased to collaborate with NXT Level Technologies to support Peel Mutual in achieving its strategic goals."
Why this matters for insurance professionals
The integration of embedded AI assistants and curated analytics tools signals a shift away from standalone AI pilots. Insurers are now building these capabilities directly into the core systems that claims adjusters and underwriters use daily. Professionals in the sector should expect vendors to prioritize native, context-aware tools over third-party add-ons that require separate logins and extensive training.
