PlayD to supply AI advertising solution ADInsight to Naver

South Korean digital ad specialist PlayD will supply its AI advertising operations solution, ADInsight, to Naver, the companies confirmed on the 8th. The deal marks the first time Naver has adopted an external AI tool to help small and mid-sized advertisers manage campaigns inside its ecosystem - a move that signals growing demand for platform-independent ad automation.

What ADInsight does

ADInsight was built in-house and tailored specifically for Naver's advertising environment. It sits on top of PlayD's integrated AI advertising platform, All_it, and focuses on two jobs: analyzing ad performance and recommending operational fixes. The standout feature is a Recommendation service that automatically generates improvement actions based on advertising objectives like clicks, conversions, or revenue.

Those recommendations include keyword bid adjustments, new ad creative suggestions, and negative keyword registrations. For Naver, the tool becomes a way to diagnose how small and mid-sized advertisers are running their campaigns and offer concrete support without manual intervention.

Training, adoption, and next steps

PlayD is not just handing over software. The company is providing on-site training and guides to drive adoption, and it plans to develop further features using real operational data and user feedback from Naver's environment. The goal is to refine the solution based on live campaign behavior, not just theoretical models.

Expanding a long-standing partnership

PlayD and Naver already work together through media platform and ad agency channels. This contract pushes the relationship into AI for Marketing territory. "This supply agreement has created an opportunity to extend our partnership with Naver-which has previously been through media platform and ad agency channels-into the AI solutions space," said PlayD CEO Cho Myung-jin.

Cho added that the company intends to pursue more AI solution deals with clients in different business environments and position itself as "an AI marketing partner that supports companies' tangible growth beyond ad operations." PlayD, a subsidiary of live-streaming platform SOOP (formerly AfreecaTV), has managed its parent company's advertising business since being acquired in 2021.

Why this matters for management

For managers overseeing advertising budgets or vendor relationships, this deal highlights a practical shift: major platforms are now willing to plug third-party AI into their ad ecosystems to improve efficiency for smaller advertisers. ADInsight automates performance diagnosis and corrective recommendations - tasks that typically eat into team hours or get skipped entirely when resources are tight. The contract also suggests that AI ad operations tools are becoming viable as standalone products, not just features inside a single platform's walled garden. That means more procurement options and less lock-in when evaluating AI for Management tools across your ad stack.
