Precision IO Group will unveil new AI-powered features and an imaging-system integration for its Epione robotic ablation platform at the CIRSE 2026 congress in Copenhagen, September 5-9. The updates aim to automate tumour segmentation and connect the platform with GE HealthCare's latest angiography system, targeting more streamlined workflows for interventional radiologists.
New AI segmentation tool
At Booth D39, the company will introduce Smart Seg AI, a deep-learning software tool trained on thousands of CT scans. It automates the segmentation of liver tumours, a task clinicians typically perform manually. Epione already integrates planning, targeting, delivery, and confirmation for percutaneous ablation procedures across abdominal, chest, and musculoskeletal tumours.
GE HealthCare system integration
The platform will also demonstrate compatibility with the Allia Moveo Interact Touch panel, developed with GE HealthCare. The pairing combines 3D imaging, treatment planning, and robotic needle guidance on a single interface. The goal is to support precise target visualisation and needle placement during complex procedures.

Hands-on sessions and lecture
Precision IO will host demonstrations at the GE HealthCare Booth D40 on Sunday, September 6, and Monday, September 7, both from 11:45 to 12:30. On Tuesday, September 8, Yann Le Meur, PhD, Director of Innovation & Technology at Quantum Surgical, will present during the SPHAIRE Lecture series. His talk, "Robotics in Interventional Oncology: The Value of Collaborative Controls," will address how human-machine collaboration is influencing interventional oncology.
Epione holds CE marking for abdominal, chest, and musculoskeletal indications with CT and CBCT guidance. It has FDA clearance for abdominal ablation with CT. Musculoskeletal applications, including bone consolidation, remain investigational in the United States under an ongoing IDE clinical study.
