Ramp and AWS sign strategic deal to bring AI-driven finance tools to enterprise customers

Ramp has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services and listed its platform on AWS Marketplace, giving enterprise customers a direct procurement path to AI-powered finance operations. The deal, announced September 4, 2026, covers corporate cards, expense management, bill payments, procurement, travel, banking, automated bookkeeping, and AI-driven policy controls.

"Enterprise finance teams are ready for AI to take manual work out of the back office, but they need a practical path to adoption," said Guy Cartwright, VP of Channel Sales at Ramp. "This collaboration helps customers bring more automation and control into finance operations without adding friction for their procurement or IT teams."

AI agents that work around the clock

The platform deploys AI agents to code expenses, enforce spending policies, and process invoices continuously. Finance teams retain full oversight - every action stays auditable, reversible, and bound by configurable financial guardrails. The system does not make unilateral decisions; it executes within parameters that the finance team sets.

Two capabilities target organizations scaling their AI workloads. Ramp Stack gives accounting firms an AI platform that encodes their specific methodology into repeatable, agent-driven workflows. The result is faster closes with a complete audit trail, rather than black-box automation that obscures how decisions were made.

Ramp AI Token Spend Management addresses a growing pain point for finance and engineering teams: tracking costs across large language model APIs and other AI infrastructure. The tool provides real-time visibility and control so that spending on AI services scales deliberately, not through surprise overages at month-end.

Procurement without the friction

Availability through AWS Marketplace removes a common barrier for enterprise buyers. Procurement and IT teams can acquire Ramp through existing AWS commitments rather than negotiating separate vendor contracts. For finance leaders who have struggled to get new tools approved, this procurement path shortens the timeline from evaluation to deployment.

Ramp now powers over $200 billion in annual purchase volume across more than 70,000 organizations. The company reports median customers see 5% savings on expenses and 16% revenue growth in their first year. Those figures come from Ramp's own data and reflect outcomes across a customer base ranging from family farms to Fortune 100 companies.

Why this matters for finance professionals

Finance teams evaluating AI tools face a practical problem: the gap between vendor promises and what procurement and IT will actually approve. This agreement puts Ramp inside AWS Marketplace, which means teams can acquire it through existing cloud commitments and standard vendor review processes. The two AI capabilities - Stack for accounting firms and Token Spend Management for AI infrastructure costs - address specific, measurable problems rather than offering vague automation promises. For CFOs and controllers, the relevant question is whether these tools can reduce manual work in ways that survive an audit. Ramp's design emphasis on reversibility and guardrails speaks directly to that concern.
