Insurance Agencies Get Framework for AI and Tech Decisions

ReSource Pro released a four-part research series Tuesday to help insurance agencies evaluate technology investments and prepare for AI adoption. The Agency Tech Blueprint gives agency leaders a structured approach to assessing where their operations stand and what systems to prioritize.

The series organizes technology into three maturity levels, from foundational systems like agency management software to advanced AI agents and automation capabilities.

Three Levels of Technology

Level 1: Foundational. Mission-critical systems every agency needs: agency management systems, document management, licensing and compliance tools, and accounting software.

Level 2: Optimizing. Tools that reduce manual work and improve efficiency: customer relationship management, certificate management, policy checking, revenue automation, and data management systems.

Level 3: Transformational. Advanced capabilities that reshape how agencies work: intelligent document processing, placement automation, risk and needs analysis, and business intelligence tools.

The Reports

The four reports cover the full technology spectrum:

  • An overview of the agency technology ecosystem
  • Core systems needed to operate effectively and prepare for AI
  • Tools that streamline workflows across sales, service, and operations
  • AI-driven capabilities redefining agency operations

A Practical View of AI in Insurance

The research emphasizes that AI works best when agencies have strong data foundations and standardized workflows. The reports are direct on a point many agencies struggle with: AI augments human work rather than replacing it.

ReSource Pro CEO Dan Epstein Tagger said the insurance industry's fragmented nature creates obstacles to AI adoption in insurance. "To get true business value out of AI, they must first lay the proper foundation," he said.

Agencies can access all four reports at ReSource Pro's website.
